On February 8, 2007, the Foreign Intelligence Service (SIE) celebrates 17 years since its establishment, a span of time characterized by sea changes with a view to modernizing and adjusting to the Euro-Atlantic standards.

On this occasion, the leadership of the Service would like to thank mass media for the objective way in which the SIE’s place and role in the Romanian society has been presented. They also express their conviction that mass media will further be a landmark of professionalism and promote the pluralism of opinions, which will contribute to a balanced view on the activity of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
