THE FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SERVICE
PRESS RELEASE
The leadership of the Foreign Intelligence
Service (SIE) has proposed the Parliamentary
Oversight Committee
for the Activity of the Foreign Intelligence
Service to convene a meeting focusing on the way
in which the SIE conducts its interception work.
The SIE has also expressed its willingness to
present a sub-committee, if necessary, the legal
framework and methodology underpinning the
tapping activities.
The request is needed in order to clarify the
public comments on the statements made by the
SIE Director before the Joint
Inquiry Committee on Assessing the Proposal to
Suspend the President of Romania.
